Abe Yuki Shiosai no Michi

Abe Yuki Shiosai no Michi
If you continue along the road for Abe town in Minami Town for a while, you will see the sign for "Cape Shikanokubi." The Cape is a known spot for great rock fishing. It is covered with trees and offers an exhilarating view of white waves lapping at the cliffs. As you continue along the winding road, you will eventually reach the Shiofuki Observatory. There is a rest area with a gazebo where you can take a break and unwind while enjoying the view of the sea. Although the trail is flat, the route is quite long, so we recommend resting your feet frequently. Enter the mountain trail from the side of the road and head down the trail for a while. Once you leave the mountains, you will come across a small fishing village before arriving at the bustling port of Yuki. If you go through a residential area and follow the road, you will soon reach your destination, Yuki Station.

1Cape Shikanokubi
This scenic Cape jutting out into the Pacific Ocean is a great spot for rock fishing with reefs surrounding the peninsula. The lush greenery of the trees on the Cape and the white-crested waves of the Kuroshio Current create a rich, beautifully harmonious, diverse landscape.
At the tip of the Cape, there are remains of a signal station, which could be called Awa's signal station. In the past, the fastest way to communicate was by sending signal fires from Asebi in Hiwasa, Shikanokubi, Ijima, and Omiko, and then messenger horses would rush from Omiko to Tokushima Castle. -
2Shiofuki-iwa
Located below the Shiofuki Rest Area in Shiwagi, the formation is made up of two strangely shaped rocks. One of the rocks is connected to the land, while the other is a short distance away in the sea. A cave about 7 meters in diameter and 110 meters long runs through it from north to south, allowing fishing boats to pass through.
The rock that connects to the land is called "Oka no Ibiki" and the rock in the sea is called "Oki no Ibiki." At high tide, it takes in seawater and shoots it up about 30 meters while making a thundering noise, creating a spectacular rainbow. -
3Ocean and mountain views
You can see the ocean through the gaps in the trees, and hear the sound of waves in the distance along with the sound of your footsteps on the ground. Take a pleasant walk while enjoying the soothing sound of the waves. You can also sit on a bench and relax while admiring the sea.

4Yuki Fishing Port
The fishing ports of Izari and Abe in Minami Town are still known as the home of Ama-san or female divers and "Itadakisan" (fish peddlers). They make a living by operating small boats to fish on the coast and by sending female divers to collect abalone and seaweed to sell them.
