    Takaya Shrine

Takaya Shrine is a historically significant shrine, counted among the 24 Engishiki shrines of Sanuki Province. It is also known as Inazumi Shrine (Inazumi-san) and has long been revered by the locals as the "God of the harvests." In spring, a pre-harvest festival is held to pray for abundant crops. During this event, elaborately embroidered portable shrines (chosa) in gold and silver are paraded up the slopes of Mt. Inazumi, and the way cherry blossoms fall is used to predict that year's harvest.
The main shrine has gained popularity on social media as the "Torii in the Sky," offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea and Kanonji City. Below, the vast expanse of the Hiuchinada seawaters and Ariake Beach stretches out before the onlookers. On clear days, hikers can even see as far as Mt. Ishizuchi, making this a perfect scenic spot.

With its extensive tidal flats and shallow waters, large tide pools form during low tide.
Additionally, the Seto Inland Sea has calm waters, and the cove-like coastline, along with nearby islands blocking the wind, creates a stunning mirror-like water surface with no waves.
