Famous water of ShimizuThis clear spring water wells up from the foot of the mountain and never runs dry, even at the height of summer. For generations, it has provided a welcome respite for townspeople and a vital water source for fishing boats. Together with Iwasa no Shimizu in Muroto City and Sakurai-do in Kochi City, this spring has long been celebrated as one of the Three Famous Waters of Tosa. In 1990, it was also named as one of the Prefecture's Top 40 Famous Waters of Tosa. Some say this spring even gave rise to the place name "Shimizu."
